  • Safe to say the pandemic has thrown the future of fashion week into question, however designers have rallied round to show us their collections in a whole new experience for the September shows. New York Fashion Week has kicked things off with a mix of physical and digital shows, and so will London Fashion WeekMilan Fashion Week and of course Paris Fashion Week.

    Milan Fashion Week 2020 dates

Following New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week, Milan kicks off on Tuesday 22nd February and will run until Monday 28th February 2020, so get those dates in your diary.

    Milan Fashion Week 2020 tickets

At the best of times, getting your hands on tickets for MFW is not a simple exercise. You have to register for accreditation as a buyer or press from the National Chamber of Italian Fashion who organises the shows, but ultimately it’s a very exclusive affair, so you’ll be hard pressed to get a coveted spot on the FROW.

Now of course, with social distancing restrictions, the guest list will be even shorted than usual, with invites coming straight from the designers’ PR companies.

    Milan Fashion Week 2020 schedule

Like the other fashion weeks, the schedule will blend digital events with a slew of physical shows, with 28 physical shows and over 50 events in total, with the last couple of days thought to be mostly digital.

Carlo Capasa, president of the Italian Fashion Chamber, told WWD, ‘The September edition of Milan Fashion Week will be a ‘phy-gital’ showcase…with the goal to allow each company and designer to present in the most suitable format, in sync with their narrative’.

Gucci confirmed it would step down from the schedule, but there are still big names showing, not least the first collection by the creative duo Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons for Prada. Also showing are Armani, Etro, Max Mara and more. The full schedule is available to view at fashionweekonline.com, as well as news of all the live streams you need to tune in for.
