Ralph Lauren adds to board of directors
Ralph Lauren plans to add Angela Ahrendts and has appointed Michael George to the Company’s Board of Directors. Ahrendts will be nominated at the annual meeting of stockholders in August 2018, while George assumed his role on May 9. Ahrendts is senior vice president of retail at Apple Inc., and George serves as president and chief executive of Qurate Retail.
Mr & Mrs Italy announces CEO
The Italian brand has appointed Frediano Sebastiani as its new chief executive. Sebastiani joined the company in 2017 as chief operating officer and previously held roles at Loro Piana. He succeeds Andrea Bucalossi who controls 70 percent of the fashion house along with Fabio Leoncini.
BFC appoints new chair
Stephanie Pair has been appointed as the new Chair of the British Fashion Council, succeeding Net-a-Porter founder Natalie Massenet. Pair, currently chief strategy officer at luxury online marketplace Farfetch, is also a member of the advisory board of venture capital firm Felix Capital and sits on the board of Italian luxury brand Moncler. She will retain her responsibilities at Farfetch.
Harrods makes senior hires
Harrods has tapped Amanda Hill as chief marketing and customer officer. Hill joins the British retailer from A&E Networks, where she served as chief marketing officer, and will report directly to managing director Michael Ward. Harrods has also named Sarah Myler as communications director, and Sandra Truesdale as head of digital marketing.
Five more Nike executives depart
An investigation into workplace behaviour at the company has resulted in the exit of five more senior executives, making 11 senior managers departed in total. Together, the executives headed up many business categories and departments at the company, including marketing, creative direction and regional leadership.
Yoox Net-a-Porter announces COO
Olivier Schaeffer has been appointed global chief operating officer for the Yoox Net-a-Porter Group. Schaeffer was most recently chief operating officer at Sephora for 16 years. He will report directly to chief executive Federico Marchetti.
Marni appoints new CEO
Marni has named Stefano Biondo as new chief executive. He succeeds Ubaldo Minelli, who was appointed group chief executive last January. Biondo joins the company from 15 years at Safilo, where he most recently held the position of chief brand officer.
